The bill would amend the Government Code to exempt certain firefighters and police officers who are permanent, paid employees of their departments from jury service on a petit jury. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
