The bill would amend the Government Code relating to exempting personal information including home address, home telephone, emergency contact information or social security for select public officials. The bill would add a current or former district attorney, criminal district attorney, or county or municipal attorney or any former employee of these offices if the jurisdiction includes criminal law or child protective services matters. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.The Office of Court Administration (OCA) states that the bill would not likely result in significant fiscal impacts to the state and local court systems. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
