The bill would amend Chapter 23 of the Tax Code, regarding property tax appraisal methods and procedures, to modify from the 10th of each month to the 20th of each month the deadline for owners and dealers of dealer's heavy equipment inventory to file monthly tax statements, along with a deposit equal to the total unit property tax assigned to all items of heavy equipment inventory in the preceding month for the prepayment of property taxes. The bill would not affect taxable property values, tax rates, collection rates, or any other variable which might affect the revenues of units of local governments or the state.This bill would take effect on September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
