                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 18, 2017      TO: Honorable Jodie Laubenberg, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1414 by Cortez (Relating to the overseas military e-mail ballot program.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code relating to the overseas military e-mail ballot program.The Secretary of State assumes any additional work associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house or on September 1, 2017.  Local Government Impact It is assumed that a county would desire to participate in the program only if funds are available.
