                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 10, 2017      TO: Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1420 by Martinez, "Mando" (Relating to the imposition of a late payment penalty against Medicaid managed care organizations that fail to timely pay certain physician and provider claims.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would impose a late payment penalty on managed care organizations that fail to pay certain physician and provider claims in a timely manner.  Based on the analysis provided by the Health and Human Services Commission, the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources.
