The bill would amend the Education Code to establish certain guidelines for instruction in public schools related to science and scientific inquiry. Based on information provided by the Texas Education Agency, it is assumed that the bill would have no fiscal implication to the State.The bill would take effect immediately if it received a vote of two-thirds of all elected members of each chamber of the Legislature, or otherwise on September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact The bill could result in some costs for local school districts to adopt policies and provide appropriate training to affected teachers, but it is anticipated that any costs would be small and could be absorbed within existing resources.
