                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 7, 2017      TO: Honorable Roland Gutierrez, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1525 by Krause (Relating to the issuance of specialty license plates to submarine veterans.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Department of Motor Vehicles(DMV) to issue specialty license plates for persons who served on a submarine while in the United States Navy. Based on the information and analysis provided by the DMV, it is assumed any costs or dutiesassociated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency'sexisting resources.
