                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 12, 2017      TO: Honorable Robert Nichols, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1570 by Burns (Relating to the enforcement of commercial motor vehicle safety standards in certain municipalities.), As Engrossed    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Transportation Code adding a municipality with a population of more than 3,000 and less than 10,000 that contains a highway that is part of the national interstate system, and is located in a county with a population between 150,000 and 155,000. A municipality that meets the requirements may apply for certification to enforce commercial motor vehicle safety. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
