The bill would amend the Local Government Code requiring the proposed budget of a political subdivision to include a line item indicating expenditures for notices required by law to be published in a newspaper. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2017.
