The bill would amend the Natural Resources Code to eliminate the requirement for the General Land Office (GLO) to provide notice and a hearing when an abandoned vessel or structure creates an imminent threat to life or property or causes a significant navigation hazard. The bill would also reduce the notification time from 20 days to 10 days for vessels having no discernible numbers or markings to determine ownership of the vessel. GLO reports that it can implement the provisions of the bill with existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
