                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 2, 2017      TO: Honorable Eddie Lucio, Jr., Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1709 by Gooden (Relating to procedures for the dissolution of the Bois D'Arc Island Levee Improvement District of Dallas and Kaufman Counties.), As Engrossed    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Special District Local Laws Code to allow the Commissioners Courts of Dallas and Kaufman Counties to dissolve the Bois D'Arc Island Levee Improvement District if the appropriate number of directors are not elected during the next election or if the directors elected fail to attend 50 percent of the meetings during the 12 months following the election. The section expires January 1, 2020. The bill would go into effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
