The bill would amend the Local Government Code to specify that a county utility district may consist of noncontiguous tracts and allows these districts to annex territory that is not adjacent or contiguous.According to the Secretary of State, the bill would have no anticipated significant fiscal implications. The agency could update any advisory materials within existing resources.This bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
