The bill would amend the Election Code allowing a county clerk after issuing an oral warning to remove, replace, or reassign an election judge who causes a disruption in a polling location or willfully disobeys the provisions of the Election Code. The bill would establish oaths and identification for Early Voting Ballot Board Members and Central Counting Station Officers. The bill would establish a process for injunctive or other relief if a county election officer determines a ballot was incorrectly rejected. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact The Texas Association of Counties (TAC) anticipates no fiscal impact to counties under the provisions of the bill.
