The bill would amend the Family Code to authorize a court to terminate the parent-child relationship if the court finds that the parent has been convicted of the sexual assault of the other parent of the child or that the parent has been placed on community supervision or an equivalent form of community supervision for being criminally responsible for the sexual assault of the parent of the child. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration and the Department of Family and Protective Services, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
