The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code prohibiting a person from discharging a firearm or shooting an arrow in or on the banks, or bed, of the Canadian River in Potter County. The provisions of the bill do not apply to peace officers or department employees acting in the scope of their related duties or to the discharge from a shotgun loaded with ammunition that releases shot when discharged. The bill does not limit the ability of a concealed handgun license holder to carry a concealed handgun. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
