                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 4, 2017      TO: Honorable Charles Perry, Chair, Senate Committee on Agriculture, Water & Rural Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1771 by Price (Relating to the use of certain weapons in or on the beds or banks of the Canadian River in Potter County.), As Engrossed    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code prohibiting a person from discharging a firearm or shooting an arrow in or on the banks, or bed, of the Canadian River in Potter County. The provisions of the bill do not apply to peace officers or department employees acting in the scope of their related duties or to the discharge from a shotgun loaded with ammunition that releases shot when discharged. The bill does not limit the ability of a concealed handgun license holder to carry a concealed handgun. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
