                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 1, 2017      TO: Honorable Dan Huberty, Chair, House Committee on Public Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1847 by Coleman (Relating to a notification requirement if a public school campus or open-enrollment charter school does not have a nurse assigned to the campus during all instructional hours.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require a public school or open-enrollment charter school that did not have a full-time nurse assigned to it for more than 30 consecutive instructional days to provide written notice of this fact to each student's parent or guardian. A school could satisfy the notice requirement by posting the notice on the school's Internet website.The bill would apply beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. The bill would take immediate effect if it receives a two-thirds vote of each house of the Legislature. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
