                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 18, 2017      TO: Honorable Joe Moody, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1848 by Coleman (relating to the repeal of the offense of homosexual conduct.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would repeal Section 21.06 of Penal Code and all related references from the Health and Safety Code relating to the offense of same-sex conduct. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2017.
