The bill would repeal Section 411.121(c) of the Government Code, which consequently would entitle the Adjutant General to the criminal history record information on an applicant for enlistment in the Texas military forces, or an applicant for employment with the Texas Military Department, without being required to submit a signed statement to the Department of Public Safety to obtain the information. It is assumed any costs resulting from the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
