                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 31, 2017      TO: Honorable Gary Elkins, Chair, House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1861 by Elkins (Relating to the confidentiality of certain information related to a computer security incident.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to add information collected, assembled, or maintained by or for a governmental body to prevent, detect, or investigate a computer security incident, including a breach of system security, as exempt from public information requests. According to the State Auditor's Office, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated and it is assumed that the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
