The bill would amend the Government Code to add information directly arising from a governmental body's routine efforts to prevent, detect, or investigate a computer security incident, including information contained in or derived from an information security log, to the list of information that is currently confidential and, therefore, excepted from public information requirements. According to the State Auditor's Office, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated and it is assumed that the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
