                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 4, 2017      TO: Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2063 by Bonnen, Greg (Relating to general procedures and requirements for do-not-resuscitate orders.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to limit the circumstances under which a do not resuscitate (DNR) order is considered valid in certain health care facility and assisted living settings. The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission to adopt rules necessary to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. The Health and Human Services Commission and the Texas Medical Board anticipate any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.   Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
