                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 3, 2017      TO: Honorable Abel Herrero, Chair, House Committee on Land & Resource Management      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2100 by Kuempel (Relating to authority of certain general-law municipalities to annex an area without consent.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Local Government Code relating to annexation of an area without consent. The  bill would only apply to a municipality with a population of 550 to 750 and is located in a county that is adjacent to a county with a population of 1.5 million or more and contains a municipality in which at least 75 percent of the county's population resides.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. The bill would amend the Local Government Code relating to annexation of an area without consent.
