                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 24, 2017      TO: Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Insurance      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2150 by Davis, Yvonne (Relating to reporting to the Texas Department of Insurance certain information related to the denial of claims by personal automobile and residential property insurers.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to reporting to the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) certain information related to the denial of claims by personal automobile and residential property insurers. Based on information provided by TDI, this analysis assumes the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.  The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017. The Commissioner of Insurance would be required to adopt rules to implement the provisions of the bill no later than December 31, 2017. The rules must require that an insurer submit the initial report no later than the 60th day after the effective date of the rules.
