                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 29, 2017      TO: Honorable Gary Elkins, Chair, House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2175 by Muñoz, Jr. (Relating to the persons authorized to submit a request for an attorney general opinion.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to specify that a chair or vice chair of a committee may request an Attorney General opinion. The Office of the Attorney General estimates that there will be a workload increase due to the expansion of the authority to request an Attorney General opinion to a vice chair of a committee. This analysis assumes that any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current agency resources.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
