A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to financial assistance for port security,
transportation, or facility projects.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 55.002, Transportation Code, is amended
by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows:
(b-1) In addition to funding projects under Subsection (a),
the department by rule shall establish a grant program to fund port
security, transportation, or facility projects with money from the
general revenue accounts, bond proceeds if allowed by other law, or
any other money appropriated by the legislature.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
