                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 29, 2017      TO: Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2373 by Miller (Relating to the period for filing a claim for reimbursement for certain ancillary services under the Medicaid program.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to allow providers to file Medicaid claims for ancillary services, provided to recipients who are homebound or who reside in a nursing facility, up to 270 days from the date the service was provided. The executive commissioner of HHSC would be required to adopt any rules necessary to implement the bill by January 1, 2018.According to HHSC, there would be some administrative and technology costs associated with the provisions of the bill, but it is assumed that they can be absorbed within HHSC's existing resources.
