                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 17, 2017      TO: Honorable Phil King, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2380 by Swanson (Relating to a defense to prosecution for the offense of trespass by certain persons carrying handguns.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Penal Code to establish a defense to prosecution for the offense of trespass by a license holder with a concealed handgun or with an openly carried handgun if the license holder was personally given notice to leave the property and promptly did so.  Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
