A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to funding commitments for approval of certain bridges
over the Rio Grande.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 201.612, Transportation Code, is amended
by adding Subsection (h) to read as follows:
(h) The commission may not approve construction of a bridge
by a political subdivision unless appropriate jurisdictions of the
United Mexican States commit to providing at least half the funding
for planning, design, and construction of the bridge.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
