                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 23, 2017      TO: Honorable James White, Chair, House Committee on Corrections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2468 by Davis, Sarah (relating to a study on the assessments used by the Board of Pardons and Paroles to make parole decisions.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Board of Pardons and Paroles (BPP) to conduct a study on the effectiveness of the assessment components of the parole guidelines. The bill would require BPP to submit a report to certain offices no later than January 1, 2019. According to BPP, any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
