                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 1, 2017      TO: Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2570 by Clardy (Relating to Medicaid beds in nursing facilities.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Human Resources Code to require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to adopt rules relating to certain aspects of contracting for new Medicaid beds in certain nursing facilities. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. The Health and Human Services Commission indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
