The bill would amend the Human Resources Code to require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to adopt rules relating to certain aspects of contracting for new Medicaid beds in certain nursing facilities. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. The Health and Human Services Commission indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
