The bill would amend the Election Code to require the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to provide voter registration application forms to certain discharged inmates. TDCJ indicates it does not anticipate a significant fiscal impact as a result of implementing the provisions of the bill. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
