                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 7, 2017      TO: Honorable James White, Chair, House Committee on Corrections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB260 by Johnson, Eric (Relating to providing voter registration application forms to certain discharged inmates.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code to require the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to provide voter registration application forms to certain discharged inmates. TDCJ indicates it does not anticipate a significant fiscal impact as a result of implementing the provisions of the bill. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
