                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 9, 2017      TO: Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2664 by Miller (Relating to nutrition and fitness standards for certain child-care facilities and training for employees at those facilities.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend portions of the Human Resources Code to require the Executive Commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to adopt rules related to minimum nutrition standards, physical activity, and time spent using or viewing electronic devices, for certain child-care facilities. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. HHSC indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
