                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 14, 2017      TO: Honorable Jodie Laubenberg, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2722 by Phillips (Relating to early voting ballots for persons with an employment hardship;), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code allowing a person to request a ballot by mail because of employment hardship.The LBB assumes any cost implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect immediately if the bill receives two-third vote in each house; otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
