                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 23, 2017      TO: Honorable Jodie Laubenberg, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2834 by Blanco (Relating to posting the location of a polling place used in an election on the secretary of state's website.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code relating to posting the location of a polling place used in an election on the Secretary of State's website.The Secretary of State assumes there would be a one-time technology cost of $132,000 in fiscal year 2018 to implement the provisions of the bill; this analysis assumes that cost could be absorbed using existing resources.The bill would take effect on September 1, 2017.
