The bill would amend the Family Code relating to the removal of an abuse finding against a parent by the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following the dismissal of a suit against the parent. Based on information provided by DFPS, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
