Dutton, Jr., Chair, House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2849 by Burkett (Relating to the removal of an abuse finding against a parent by the Department of Family and Protective Services following the dismissal of a suit against the parent.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Family Code relating to the removal of an abuse finding against a parent by the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following the dismissal of a suit against the parent. Based on information provided by DFPS, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
