                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 14, 2017      TO: Honorable René Oliveira, Chair, House Committee on Business & Industry      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2856 by Villalba (Relating to names of domestic and foreign filing entities for transacting business in this state; creating an offense.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Business Organizations Code relating to names of domestic and foreign filing entities for transacting business in this state; creating an offense.The Secretary of State and Comptroller of Public Accounts assume any additional work associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions for criminal offenses would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.The bill would take effect on June 1, 2018.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
