This bill would amend the Government Code, regarding exemptions from fees for deployed military personnel, to include a member of the Texas National Guard or Texas State Guard on state active duty to the class of individuals that are exempt from paying certain state or local governmental fees incurred while on active duty. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.According the Comptroller of Public Accounts, some revenue loss would occur; however, the amount of loss cannot be determined. Local Government Impact According to the Texas Association of Counties, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
