The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to require an impartial third party appointed to facilitate an alternative dispute resolution of certain matters regarding a parent-child relationship to have a minimum of four hours of family violence dynamics training as a part of the 24 hours of training currently required in the fields of family dynamics, child development, and family law. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
