The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to make it a Class A misdemeanor for a deer breeder or another person to administer or utilize an illegal drug or drug product for the sole purpose of enhancing the body appearance or antler growth of a deer. The bill would exempt the use of approved pharmaceuticals recommended by a veterinarian from this violation. Based upon information provided by the Parks and Wildlife Department, this analysis assumes the duties and responsibilities of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
