The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to make it a Class A misdemeanor for a deer breeder or another person to administer or utilize an illegal drug or drug product for the sole purpose of enhancing the body appearance or antler growth of a deer. The bill would exempt the use of approved pharmaceuticals recommended by a veterinarian from this violation. Based upon information provided by the Parks and Wildlife Department, this analysis assumes the duties and responsibilities of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
