The bill would amend the Occupations Code to qualify the information a law enforcement license holder may obtain regarding a complaint made against the license holder. The bill would also stipulate conditions upon which a law enforcement license holder's case files are confidential in circumstances where the information or material is prepared or compiled by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) in connection with a complaint or an investigation of any person subject to TCOLE's jurisdiction. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
