The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code to authorize a brewer to offer a prize to a consumer of legal drinking age if the offer is part of a promotional sweepstakes activity. The bill would also add provisions relating to certain authorized sweepstakes promotions. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission reports that the costs and duties to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
