                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 30, 2017      TO: Honorable René Oliveira, Chair, House Committee on Business & Industry      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3041 by Blanco (Relating to the ability of a nonexempt employee to participate in certain academic, extracurricular, and developmental activities of the employee's child.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to the ability of a nonexempt employee to participate in certain academic, extracurricular, and developmental activities of the employee's child. Statewide costs could be derived from the need to hire temporary staff or potential overtime costs from shifting workloads; however, it is not assumed to be significant. Based on information provided by the Texas Workforce Commission, this analysis assumes the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
