A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to restrictions on political activities for county
elections administrators.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 31, Election Code, is
amended by adding Subsection 31.035 (d) to read as follows:
Sec. 31.035. (d) This section does not apply to an
administrator who is the county elections administrator in a county
other than that in which the administrator holds nonpartisan public
office or is a candidate for a nonpartisan public office.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
