The bill would amend the Government Code concerning investment training requirements for certain local officers by amending and repealing certain provisions. The bill also re-enacts Section 2256.008(a). Section 2256.008(a-1), of the Government Code, would be repealed.The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house. If the bill does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect it would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact According to the Texas Association of Counties, the bill would have no significant impact on local government.
