The bill would amend the Occupations Code to expand the number and types of professional sports teams for which an associated charitable foundation is authorized to conduct a charitable raffle. The Office of the Attorney General, Comptroller of Public Accounts, and Texas Lottery Commission anticipate any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill cold be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect December 1, 2017 only if the constitutional amendment proposed by the 85th Legislature, Regular Session, 2017, to authorize professional sports team charitable foundations to conduct charitable raffles at additional venues is approved by voters. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
