                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 30, 2017      TO: Honorable Joe Moody, Chair, House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3147 by White (Relating to the entitlement to expunction for certain persons who are arrested solely as a result of inaccurate identifying information.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to authorize the expunction of a record for certain persons who are arrested solely as a result of inaccurate identifying information due to a clerical error. The Department of Public Safety and the Office of Court Administration report the costs and duties to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. Local Government Impact According to the Texas Conference of Urban Counties, the bill would have no significant fiscal impact on counties.
