A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to training for peace officers on enforcing the Private
Security Act.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, is
amended by adding Section 1701.267 to read as follows:
Sec. 1701.267. TRAINING PROGRAM RELATING TO PRIVATE
SECURITY. The commission shall establish and maintain a training
program for peace officers on enforcing Chapter 1702, including
training on enforcing the provisions of that chapter that apply to
an alarm systems company, armored car company, courier company,
guard company, guard dog company, locksmith company,
investigations company, and private security consulting company.
SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2017, the Texas
Commission on Law Enforcement shall approve the curriculum for the
training program described by Section 1701.267, Occupations Code,
as added by this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
