A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to motor vehicle weight enforcement by certain weight
enforcement officers.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 621.408, Transportation Code, is amended
by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
(c) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), a weight enforcement
officer described by Section 621.401(3), (4), (5), or (6) may not
enforce this subchapter on an interstate highway or United States
highway if the vehicle that is the subject of the enforcement is a
vehicle described by Section 623.162.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
